Mother's day cards

Good Tuesday Morning!  It's been a few days since I popped in,  I have a Mother's day card to share with you, I could decided if I liked the card background to be all pink so I made another identical card and put black behind it.  It's neat how one colour can change a look so much, what do you think?

I made this card for my son's Vice Principle.  She made it possible for him to go on a school trip.  I knew I had to use this Oliver for just such a card.  Isn't he the cutest???  What's funny is that my son has been in two school plays and both times his character wore the same hat as Oliver.

Teacher Appreciation

As you probably already know this week is Teacher Appreciation week and
Whimsie Doodles released some really cute School Shaped cards.  They are super easy and fast to put together.  They come as a JPG so you can just print and cut out.
They come in a zipped file that included a JPEG (just print and cut out) and an SVG file (sure cuts a lot) for the Cricut.  Here are two cards I made using the apple and bus shapes.
When my Cricut cut out the white part of the apple is also cut out the seeds.  So I could just colour the seeds black or slip the polka dot paper in behind the white.
I used PSA Essentials Super Star stamps for the sentiment and smiley face.
Verve stamps Blue Skies for the note and Vintage Photo distress ink -Ranger.
For the bus I just matted some of the pieces with black cardstock.  The Bus Grill was embossed with Tim Holtz Folder.  Creme brulee ink (CTMH) was used to sponge all yellow edges and smiley face.
I used PSA Essentials Super Star stamps for the sentiment and smiley face.
You will find the card shapes here.

Mother's Day mini hat

I saw this hat on Splitcoast Stampers and I just had to try one for myself.  I saved all my empty ribbon spools and brought them out to decorate.
Now I have a mini storage hat for a little gift for Mom.
1. start with the empty ribbon spool.
2. peel off the top of the ribbon spool. (hat base)
3. Take a smaller ribbon spool and remove the bottom (make sure it fits inside the bottom spool)  then  trim the top edge along the spool center. (hat top)
4. Decorate the spool pieces. Attach the middle to the bottom with hot glue.
5. Wrap ribbon around the middle tie with a bow and decorate.
