A Fresh and Toxic card today

Hey everyone!

SWEET SEPTEMBER is ALMOST here! You know what that means?

It's time for another Farm Fresh Friday challenge but we have a SPECIAL treat for you today...and it's just as SWEET as it is TOXIC???  Yep, you guessed it...we are previewing a BRAND NEW set "Sweet and Toxic" set to release this coming Wednesday, September 1st at The Greeting Farm!

EXCITED? Well, perhaps you'll be even MORE excited to know that our new CREEPER CREW sets are going to be released as 4x6 stamp sets WITH sentiments! How SWEET is that? You're probably noticing that all of this is just a LITTLE more sweet than toxic, huh?

Well let's show off these sassy new additions with some cards from the Farmers using Mercy's sketch as your challenge this week on the TGF Blog:
And here's my card:
I thought I could go a little crazy and make her hair really orange with green eye shadow.  There's so many ways you dress this little Creeper up.  You can go totally gothic to completely goofy and she'll look fabulous!

Be sure to stop by the TGF Blog today to see all of the creations the FARMERS have for you and be sure to stop by the CA&F Blog tomorrow for MORE previews and an announcement!
One more announcement here on the TGF Farmer Front...today we sadly say a (bitter)SWEET goodbye to two of our dear, dear Farmers, Kadie and Cindy :( It's hard to believe these two beautiful souls have been Farmer's for a year already, isn't it? Parting is SWEET sorrow, indeed, and I'm not just saying that :( On behalf of Marie, Jess, and ALL of TGF, we say a SUPER DUPER Thank you to these two wonderful ladies and just KNOW that you'll never be FAR from the Farm! Best of luck and THANK YOU. for. EVERYTHING.

As for our little challenge today?

Upload your card/creation using Mercy's sketch to the TGF Galleria>Contests/Challenges>FFF>Mercy Sketch 8-27

The winner of this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge will WIN the new "Sweet and Toxic" set! I'll see you back here on MONDAY with another SWEET preview, and this all leads up to our RELEASE DAY DT blog hop in which there will be prizes....LOTS of prizes :) Our "SWEET SEPTEMBER" DT Blog Hop will include the Farmers, Team Anya, and our Critter Crew! We can't wait to hop into another fun filled month at TGF with you!

Until then...hope your day is a little less toxic, and a LOT more Sweet!

Hang in there

As you probably know I love to make paper piecings and couldn't resist making two more birdhouses. I think the sentiment "hang in there" is more appropriate for these cards don't you?  I made two cards but couldn't bring myself to make them identical, LOL.   I've also updated my Etsy shop and included these cards.  I can't believe I'm actually letting of some of my cards!!

Notes for Teacher

So I picked up so cheapy notes pads just so I could make little note books with them.  Seeing how it's almost that time of the year to send the little ones off to school I thought I'd make a note book for my son's new teacher.  Maybe make a good first day impression!! LOL.  The little school house is from the Digi set Punny Enough from Whimsie Doodles.

Blue Skies Verve Card Set

I had a such blast putting together cards for the Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenge that I decided to make a second batch.  Only this time I wanted to go way out on a limb with the sketches.  So I went back to my favorite way of making cards and created little paper pieced images.  I tried to use basic shapes for everything.
Here are my cards and the sketchs.
Sketch A-Smiles

Sketch B-You make me smile

Sketch C-Welcome Back
Spellbinders Circle and Flower Dies
DP-Fly a Kite-October Afternoon

Sketch D-You make me smile
Martha Stewart Icicle border punch to make the grass.
Circle punches for the belly, eyes and flowers

Sketch E-Blue skies
Spellbinders circle and heart dies
Free hand the clouds
May Arts Hemp string

Here's a little sketch of how I made the Owl.
I basically start with a rectangle.
Then clip on a diagnal off the sides. Use the access to make the Owl ears.
Use a corner rounder on the edges.
2 small circles and 1 larger for the eyes and belly.

Materials
Verve Stamps-Blue Skies
October Afternoon-Go Fly a Kite
Flower and circles Die-Spellbinders
Ranger distress ink-Vintage Photo
May Arts hemp string

I've been asked if I cover the stitching on the inside of my cards.  You can see pretty much all the stitching of my cards.  I don't cover them up, I think it's part of the charm of a homemade stitched card.  All the thread ends are tied in a knot so they don't "let go" later.

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch Challenges

Verve stamps are having an anniversary and they are celebrating with a sketch challenge.  I am starting to get into sketches and just had to give Verve a try.  Here are my cards based on the Verve Sketches.
To find out more and where to post your cards visit the Verve Challenge thread.
I used the same colletction of DP to make the cards look more like a set of 5.

Sketch A-Blue Skies-Verve
Sketch B-Blessings-Verve
Sketch C-Blue Skies-Verve

Whimsie Wednesday Challenge

This week for the Whimsie Challenge is all about school.  I'm so glad I made a card for this challenge.  Now I have a card early so I'm not scrambling at the last minute putting a card together.
I used the new image from Punny Enough to make this card.

What's your number?

Today's FFF challenge was to create a card using your favorite number.  I picked the number 5.  Personally I don't actually have a "lucky" number or set of "go to" numbers but 5 looks interesting, after all it is the magic number for mom's who can't wait for their darling children to start school.  LOL.  Oh and I almost forgot to tell you that my card features Friday Creeper.  How perfect to have Friday on a Friday challenge??  I didn't plan it..LOL Have a wonderful weekend!

It's Tuesday Creeper on a Sketch card

Happy Friday!  I'm so glad to be home.  I got back just in time to squeak together a card for Farm Fresh Friday.  This week's Greeting Farm challenge was a sketch created by our very own Cindy Haffner.   I couldn't wait to play with the new Creeper's and Tuesday was just perfect for this card. Isn't she cute in her Tutu and tall boots? I added the wings from the Scrapbook set Spotlight.
Check out the sketch and play along
For now here's my version of the sketch.
