it's a Pool Party

Another new stamp from Whimsie Doodles. Doodle bear is all ready for the pool party. I thought I would be fun to use the Drippy Goo stamp to represent water dripping down the card.

The most Exciting news ever!!

I’ve been thinking about starting my own digital stamp company for some time now. And now that day is here. Wooo hoooo!! I’ve always loved to draw ever since I could hold a pencil, my style has always been on the “whimsical” side of illustrating. I’d doodle on anything that had a free space. Now I’m converting these doodles into digital stamps so that I can make my dream come true and that dream is called Whimsie Doodles (I’m jumping up and down in excitement).
So if your interested click HERE to find out how to apply for a position in my first Doodelicious Design Team.

Here’s a card I made using the my first digital stamp.

I've been publlished!

Well I took a while but I finally recieved my copy of Paper Crafts 225 Cards and Gifts.

The little clear bag I decorated was a Calgon bag (it originally contained 4 body mists). I counldn't stand to throw out a little bag like that so I stashed it away until I could find a use for it. I'm so glad I did. Now if I could only figure out how to re-use those zippered bags that some bed sheets come in! Any suggestions??
The stamp set I used is called "Random Thoughts" and it's from CTMH.
I used watercolour pencils to colour the images.

Toooty toot toot

What a super fantastic day I had today!! First I went on a road trip to visit my parents, had lunch with Mom, visited my grandfather (Poppy) and came home to the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and I'm in it!! I have a digital page published on page 115. Oh I'm so excited!! Now that I've stopped bounching around my kitchen I can show you the layout.
here's a pic of the cover.

And guess what??? Canadian Scrapbooker cantacted me and asked if I'd like to be featured in their "Passport to Creativety" segment. For each issue they choose 3 scrapbookers from a province and feature them in this segment. And they want ME!!!! I can't believe it! The publish 3 of your layouts, your photo and a little question/answer section. I'm so nervous about sounding silly!! LOL. Anyway the issue I'll be in will be out in Oct of this year. My only concern now is if they pick a goofy pic of me...hahahahhaha! (keeping my fingers crossed).

Bombshell cards

Good Tuesday morning everyone! Today's line up is some cards I made using Bombshell Stamps. Each stamp set has a cool variety of images that co ordinate with a bombshell girl. I love playing with these colours and stamps, they remind me of things I'd see in the 50's or 60's with the checkers, polkadots and robin egg blues and bright pinks.

Frosted Flower card-no sentiment

Happy Thursday everyone!!
It's time for another ShortCuts project and today I'm showing you a card I made using a ShortCuts frosted sheet and Sizzix flower die. It's easy to make flowers and any other shape out of ShortCuts clear and frosted sheets using dies, just think of it as cardstock and go for it.

I took a close up shot of the flower to show you that I added polkadots to the petals using Liquid Pearls and brushed White Staz On the edges.

a Forest Friends Luminarie

Well I'll be splitting wood all day tommorrow so I'm going to post this tonight. I thought it might be cute to make a forest scene that you can put a little LED light behind. I tried to take a pick of the light glowing but it came out all blurry!

I hand drew the sun, tree, clouds and grass. I used ShortCuts full frosted sheet for the window. That way you can't see the candle hiding behind the scene.
And it wouldn't be complete without some cute forest creatures. Aren't these guys cute!!! They are the "Forest Friends" stamps from
I also used Spellbinders Labels to cut out the windows. Isn't that Label pretty??
If you want to see a tutorial on how I made this click here.
This Luminarie measures ( you start with a piece of cardstock 9"x12") fold in half so that it now measures
4.5"x12"
Each panel measures 4.5"x3"

Another ShortCuts challenge

ShortCuts and 2 sketches 4 you have team up for a card challenge. I used this weeks 2s4y sketch and ShortCuts frosted card to make this card. What a fun challenge this was! As soon as I saw the sketch I thought of a making a big sun.

The game of tag is over!

Today is the day that you get to see all the cards the ShortCuts and Sheetload girls created in our game of tag! Alicia started with a card and sent it to me. I then used her card as inspiration for mine, then it was sent to the next girl on the list. I gave you a sneak peek last week now you get to see the whole card. And you can see the whole chain from start to finish here. Check it out, it's amazing how the card evolved!!

To see the whole set of cards visit Alicia's Blog. The cards are gorgeous!

Hey Hottie!

Another sneak peek of a new set of Miss Anya. This is Shine from Rain, Snow and Shine. She is one of 3 in the set. To see more of my cards using this set stop by here.
I thought I'd try and make a sort of beach scene card. So I used a scallop die for the sun, stitched the "sand" and threw in some flowers!! LOL. Everything is chalked and inked. I love the look of chalking/inking the edges and of course stitiching!!

Card Tag

Remember playing tag as a child? I know I do. I was a fast runner (being tallest the kid) and so it meant no one really tried to catch me! But size doesn't matter when your on-line. LOL. So I joined a game of tag with my fellow ShortCuts and Sheetload design team.
The rules are easy, you get an email with a card, you make your version of the card and then send it to the next person on the list. I can't wait to see how the card has evolved. Here's a sneak peek at my card!

ShortCuts Hello flower card

Good morning folks. I hope your week is going great. Mine has been....well interesting. I have a couple of announcements I'll be making in the next week or so. For now I get to show you a new card. I couldn't wait to post this card! Using ShortCuts clear cards have changed my way of card making. I know you can make cards with layers and using pop dots to add dimension but a plain card just can't give you the depth like clear cards can!! Take these flowers for example, don't they look like they are inbetween fields?

Michael's had a sale on adhesive backed felf so I grabbed a bunch of colours. I knew I wanted to make my own felt flowers and the fact they all ready had adhesive was a bonus!!! Then I just ran them through my Big Shot with a Sizzix flower die. It works perfectly!! Then I added the yellow promo flower and buttons and there ya go a field of flowers. Well if you can call two flowers a "field" that is. LOL

Your turn to shine shaped card

What a fun little card I have for you today. I was flipping through Creating Keepsakes June 2009 issue yesterday when I saw an add for Melissa Francis. It was a scrapbook page with a giant circus tent on it and I thought "hey I have the new stamp set "Showtime" from The Greeting Farm that's perfect for a this. I think I'll make a tent card". And well here you go, my version of that inspiration.

Aren't the pattern papers cute?? I just love them!! They are the new line of papers from The Greeting Farm called "Sunny Glen" paper pack. They are a double sided 6x6 pack of paper (48 sheets in total). You have to check them out for yourself!!

Just incase you love it to and want to make it yourself I made a *template for you!!

*Just so you know I made this card on a sheet of 12x12 cardstock, but the template is made to fit on an 8.5x11 sheet. I don't know about you but I don't have a giant printer and wouldn't be able to print anything larger than letter size (8.5x11). Sorry it's not to scale of my original card.

Here's my template file.
Enjoy

Sneak Peeks of Miss Anya's Rain, Snow and Shine

Isn't Miss Anya cute with her rubber boots and umbrella. I think any card with her on it will brighten anyone's day. Even a rainy day!!

I know it's to early for winter cards but Miss Anya with her ear muffs is just to cute not to make a card with. This paper just screamed "vintage" to me so I helped the look along with some Distress ink. And Sweet Miss Daisy's style of making snowflakes. I don't think I'll be able to make a plain snowflake again!! LOL

See I just love "Snow Anya" she's just too cute. Even with the hot spring days I'm happily making winter cards with Anya as my muse!! These colours are my favorite winter colours and again Miss Daisy style snowflake adorns the card.

These stamps will be available at The Greeting Farm May 15.
