Love U winged heart card

Wow I can't believe a month has come and gone so fast!! My first month as a DT member of ShortCuts is over already. Here is my last post for this month's theme Valentines. I love the look of hearts and wings so I created my own using CTMH stamps and ShortCuts frosted sheet. Using the frosted sheets gave the wings a soft translucent look. Hope you like the card. Sunday starts off another month of great ideas, especially some cool 3D stuff.
Don't forget about the 10% coupon on my sidebar for Shortcuts.

TECC52JC My Friend

Here's my version of the sketch challenge for Taylored Expressions.
The sketch requires a circle behind the image, I thought it would be neat to have a fan instead. Especially since it is something you might find a Geisha holding.
Cut a circle
Decorate with scroll stamp and Liquid pearls.
When dry fold circle in half. Repeat folding.
Cut 1 folded side of circle to center
Re-fold in acordian style folds
Attach lace. I use Diamond Glaze to glue the lace, it dries super fast and holds really good.

X-Ray my Heart Valentine Card + Tutorial

Good Monday Morning everyone!!
I thought I'd start the morning off with an X-Ray...card that is! The frosted card blank from ShortCuts was perfect for this card. It left the bones white and translucent not 100% see through so it looks like a chest X-Ray.

Geisha thought I forgot?

I fell in love with Geisha Anya (from The Greeting Farm) the moment we met and just had to have her. Since she's a digital stamp my need was met instantly. My next task was to figure out what clever saying I could come up with using the word "Geisha" and well here is it...Geisha thought I forgot aka Guess ya thought I forgot! LOL. Well I thought it was funny!
I enlarged Geisha Anya to fit a standard size card and cut her in half ( I cringed at this part). I also hand wrote "thought I forgot". Looking at in now I think it's kinda croked! Humm well that's ok cause it's homemade and it's not supposed to be perfect (to me anyway).
Hope you like her.

It's my Birthday!

So since it's my birthday I thought I would share a template I've been holding onto. Why was I holding onto it? Cause I was just to lazy to digitize it so it would be easy for everyone to print and cut out. That and when I first made the skate I kinda lost it in my pile of scrap. Can you believe this...the skate has been missing for over a month!! Well I found it and was finally able to make a card using it. Don't you just love these clear cards from ShortCuts? I love making a card with multi layers without bulk of paper. I don't think this card would work any other way. Hope you like it and the template. If you use the skate and post it somewhere could you please link back to me with it? Thanks.

Magical Unicorn Cards Digital Stamp

Here are some cards I made using The Greeting Farms digital Unicorn stamp. I'm entering these cards in a contest over at the Greeting Farm. You have to make cards using this unicorn stamp, name the unicorn and tell why it's magical. I'm not so great at the "why" part but I'll try. Every image was printed on CTMH cardstock and coloured using Pantone markers.

Life is so good with you in it.
Meet Love and Lee.
Mom and son unicorns, they are Cupid's Ponies. You can't help but feel warm and fuzzy when they are near. They love to play and love all things in life.

Sweet Little Lady
This is Misty, she is the unicorn of little girls giggles. She loves to visit little girls who gather together to play. She's the reason they giggle, like to pretend and just plain be silly. She is a Princess Unicorn of dress up land, where there is always a tea party going on. Kinda like Alice in Wonderland except there is no Mad Hatter!

I created this card using watercolour pencils and baby wipes. Click here for a tutorial on how to make a similar background.
I won First Place for the Magical Unicorn card contest at The Greeting Farm for this card.

And last but not least meet Dusk he only comes out as the sun is setting. His coat and mane are camoflauge for just such a time. He is the Unicorn of late night inspiration for all those paper crafters who stay up late creating. You know he has visited because his hoves leave a trail of glitter behind. And your head is swimming with ideas. I love Dusk!!

Key to My Heart Clear card

Playing with these clear cards from ShortCuts sure are fun! What I like most is that I can do things with these clear cards that I just can not achieve with a cardstock card. Layering on 2 levels that give you the kind of depth that cardstock card can not achieve. My favorite is nesting messages behind the card front that give the reciever a little surprise. And "suspending" images in the "air". Like the card below.

It's Love!

I’m in love…yep with these clear cards from ShortCuts! I love the 3D look you get with these cards. You can create a multi layer look without the bulk! I stamped the scroll in the corner in white, stamped LOVE in black matted once and added a ribbon; the inside has a heart stamp and verse. So the card is decorated in both the front and inside, but from the outside it looks like it’s all on the front of the card. Pretty neat eh?

My First Digi Stamp-Anya (all dressed up)

This is my first time trying a digital stamp. I love it!! I can print flawlessly, resize the image and even remove things if I want (or add). For example this stamp is Anya as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz she had Toto by her side and I removed him before I printed her, another card I removed the checker pattern from her dress. I created the Bling. I just love this little character and will have to buy more!!

"Clearly" it's just another Halloween card

I love the old painted look of the background paper and instantly thought I had to use it in a Halloween card. In case you haven't noticed I'm loving the clear matt with a touch of colour along the edges. Clear cards and Clear sheets (from ShortCuts) are really fun to play with there are just so many ideas running through my mind to do with them, my only hope is to get them out before I forget..LOL

Seize the Cupcake

Bisous has a paper line that are pre-designed quick pages called PDQ pages (Pretty Darn Quick….I think that is what they are called), all you have to do is add photos and journaling. I took one of these pages and cut it up to make cards. There are so many beautiful patterns on one page I couldn’t just make a page with it, I had to spread it out and make a couple of cards. Here is a card I just finished.

I wanted to add another matt around the Piggies because the white just wasn’t standing out enough but I didn’t want the “weight” of another colour. My solution? I inked the edges of a clear sheet from Short Cuts. Now I have an “invisible” layer with a touch of colour. You probably can’t see it but I also hand stitched little pearls on the lace.

A Valentine for the Kiddos

I thought it would be cute to make a Valentine for a child, something fun and bright that speaks to them. So what I made was a gift card holder except it holds “coupons” instead of a gift card. The coupons are for 1 treat, 2 hugs and kisses and 1 day of not making your bed!! What do you think? Do you think a little boy or girl would like this. What other "coupons" could I include for this project?
