Radom Lizzie Anne's

Today I blew the dust off some stamp sets I haven't touched in months.  It's sad to see stamps sitting around and not have the time to use them.  So with all my DT duties caught up for the month I had a little spare time to play with some Lizzie Anne Designs stamps.
I used the stamp set Cute as a Bug to make this card.
I used the stamp set called Petite Phrases to make this card.

Birthday Card

Well I haven't taken out my Lizzie Anne Designs stamps in awhile.
Is there a name for the technique of taking a designer page and making multiple cards from it? It's my favorite thing to do lately. I end up making a group of cards and adding an image later. (basically whatever fits). But I'd like to know or give this "technique" a name. Is it frugel card crafting?

I used watercolour pencils to colour this image. My markers are drying out on me already!! I guess that happens when they are a number of years old. LOL

LAD sketch card challenge

Well I have to tell you what I watched last night. Pimp my ride!! LOL. Ok so I wasn't watching but my husband while channel surfing stopped and called me out to see what they were doing. The pimped out a car complete with Digital Scrapbooking supplies! Can you believe that?? Lucky girl not only got a sweet new ride (rootbeer finish) but she was also outfitted with a laptop, new digi camera and portable scanner! All in her trunk! I tried but I can not convince hubby to pimp my ride! hehe were would I put my groceries then??

Ok so here are my last two entries in the LAD sketch contest. That's it I'm done, I'm not making anymore cards for this challenge!! Well today IS the last day to enter so I don't have a choice really.haha. Have you seen the new stamps they are releasing?? CUUUUTE. I want them all!!

A card for LAD

I was busy all weekend working on new stamps, a website and making cards! I finished a set of monkey cards for a swap I'm in. It's not due till sept, but it was bugging me to have it hanging over my head so I sat down and made all the cards. Now I just have to get off my butt and mail the things! LOL.
I do have a card I can show you. It's for the contest over at Lizzie Anne Designs. They are celebrating by hosting a birthday card sketch challenge. With lots of prizes to be had! Click here to learn more.
Here's my entry, this card is based a sketch #80

Sweet, simple birthday card

This is my attempt as making a card with "as little as possible" embellishements. So I used a ShortCuts clear card to help visually reduce the elements and keep it simple! The more I get to play with clear and frosted cards the more I love them!! You've got to give these cards a try.

Here's a coupon for 10% off if you want try an adventure in clear fun.

You take the cake

Well it's the last day of the work week and the first week of April is almost over. Where is the time going?
April's theme for ShortCuts is summer time! That means fun sun sunny cards to brighten your day. I'm in love with this paper set. I can't believe aqua and orange look so good together. And isn't the clear card just perfect for keeping the card light and airy? Just like summer when less is best on those hot hot days!

Well I finally got the nerve to slice into the papers and well everything became a blur of inspiration and before I knew it I had completed 5 projects. You’ll see most of them next month. But here is one card I can share now.

Sketch Challenge LAD_WC_57

Lizzie Anne Designs have a sketch challenge every week with a twist. Not only do you get a sketch but you also have to do something specific. For example this week's sketch required "something hanging". So anywhere on the card you had to hang something. When I read that bit of info I imediatley thought of a shelf to hang mittens on so I made myself a shelf! The "knobs" on the shelf (along with the shelf top) are attached with 3D foam tape to make them pop.

ShortCuts Design Team call-Clear Cards

I finished all my projects for the ShortCuts Design Team call, they are listed below and I just couldn't not do something with the extra clear card. I LOVE these clear cards, they have so many possibilites and you can create so much depth with your cards, it's a whole new dimension of cardmaking...I wish I had more to play with!!

I used a picture of our house, opened the pic in Photoshop and changed it to B&W leaving only the house in colour. I thought it would be a perfect idea for a christmas card that read "There's no place like home for the holidays". If you look real close you can see my poor JEEP just buried in all the new fallen snow. Good thing it's 4-wheel drive or I'd never get out of my driveway...LOL. The big white spots on the photo are snowflakes, the flash went off and that's what happens when light bounces of them.

I've had the little image here stamped, coloured and cut out for about 3 days now and I just figured out what to do with it. I'm glad I waited for my Mojo to return...Oh I guess I haven't told you....I lost my Mojo a few days ago. Boy it's depressing!! Wanna know why I think it came back, well I went shopping with my Mom yesterday and now I back!! (I hope...LOL)

Thank you for stopping by. I wanted to share this card with you today for two reasons. First it was my first attempt at using markers. I'm starting to see more and cards beautifully coloured using Copic Markers and then a light came on. I have Pantone Markers!! Oh my I had them all along stashed away. What a CRIME!! So I blew the dust of them and started colouring.

My Second reason is...I made this card for my friend, I think she's the greatest mom ever (besides my mom) and this image of a little girl and her mom cuddling reminded me so much of Laura that I had to make her a card with this stamp. I even tried to make the hair match!

So here's to Laura, your the best girlfriend.

Love Melyssa

Drippy Goo Border Punch

So I bought this punch (Martha Stewart Goo border punch) and I LOVE IT!!! I can see so many possibilities with this punch. I know it is a halloween punch but who's say's I can't improvise. My goal is to make cards using this punch in as many different variations

as I can possibly think of. I hope you can help.
If you can think of another use for this punch add your idea in the comments. I will update this list as the ideas arrive.

here is my list so far:
1. Green goo from a witch's cauldren (dahhh no brainer there...LOL)
2. The ends of a dress (giving the dress a tattered look) someone did this to a witch's dress, it was awesome.
3. Icing like on a cake or cupcake (first card)
4. Melting icecream (second card)
5. Icicles or snow covered something
6. Icing on a gingerbread house
7. Rain, spilling water, splashes (summer fun, pool party, beach card)

9. Punch in red for blood (halloween, someone's hurt, get well, bleeding heart, etc.)
10. Wet Paint-thanks Paula! OR Egg paint as in Easter Eggs

Christmas Boxy Bag

A little christmas Luminary, pattern "Boxy Bag" by Jody Morrow she has a tutorial for this template http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/
If you noticed I cut a circle in the mat and box to help the light shine through, plus it gives it the look of the moon behind the house. I used a LED tea light, DO NOT use a real flame candle!!
