Best Dad ever

Good morning my crafty friends!  Today I have a card that is ahead of it's time, I mean it's about 4 weeks early :)  But it's never too early to think ahead and before you know it Father's day will be upon us. There are some really cute tool digi's by Whimsie Doodles that can be used as tags or embellishments for cards and scrapbook pages so I used the handsaw for my card.  I managed to keep it fairly simple (for me) to keep the focus on the saw.  I think this would make a great Copic class don't you?

Out of this World

April's challenge from One Crazy Stamper is to make a masculine card and for some reason I just had to make a space card! I knew I wanted to put the moon toward the bottom and the space my in "space".  Once I put it together it seemed to be missing something, it was unbalanced and was driving me crazy!!  So my options where Saturn or Earth.  I picked Earth and tucked it behind the moon so it looked like the little Astronaught was far from home.  Now it looks balanced to me.

I used LOL Tag lines for my card and I giggled the entire time I was making it.  This whole set was hilarious.

Hoodie Teen rocks!!

Masculine cards are really hard to make, for me anyway.  I find myself wanting to dress it up and then feeling like I'm made it too girly.  But if I don't embellish it then it looks too plain and boring.  So that is always my "masculine" dilemma!  For this card I used a little distressing, jute twine and chocolate cardstock and even though I used a scallop border I feel it still looks boyish. So I'm thinking that masculine cards can be accomplished if you throw in some "girly" things only if it's in very limited amounts.
