Elvis is in my Blog!

As promised here's a layout of my son in his Elvis costume. He was very thrilled with the results. To be honest so was I!! The costume took about 2 days to complete, 1/2 an hour for hair and sideburns and he only Trick or Treated for 2 hours.
The wings on the front of the costume were hand drawn by me, I used Glitter paint and made every dot on the suit (my attempt at simulating rinstones).
People just loved seeing Koale at their door, they were taking pictures of him, and calling other family members to the door to get a look at Elvis. Koale was playing the part very well, saying "thank you, thank you very much" and posing for pics. He loved it!!

The digital layout was created by me, the kit I used is by NitWit Collections called "Can I be Frank?" The star and paint splat is by Miss Mint. The Post-It note is by Scrapadelic.

Yep my boy wants to be Elvis for Halloween, the Elvis in the white body suit. I'll post a pick of of him all decked out. Stay tuned.

Vintage Christmas

My first attempt at "stagging" a card. I'm love the look of this stamp set. Every image is so vintage looking and with a little antiquing the card looks vintage to. And the little green bells that I attached to the ribbon used to belong to a pin, the bells were wired together to make a christmas tree and I couldn't resist taking it apart for "other" uses..LOL

Watercolour Pencil Sunset

Hope you like my video tutorial. If you have any comments or suggestions please contact me.

I would love to know how to make these tutorials better. What did you like or dislike, what could I add. Did you like it, was it helpful?

Or if you just want to tell me you viewed it that would be great to!

Disappointed? you bet

I just got the news and I didn't make the team for I {heart} papers. To be honest I understand why, I'm really new to this whole scene...blogging and posting, but I still feel really sad.
I was really hoping that my work would speak louder then my experience.
Oh well there is still hope, I am waiting for a reply for another Design Team.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Pick me please, please!!

A little christmas Luminary, pattern "Boxy Bag" by Jody Morrow she has a tutorial for this template http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/
If you noticed I cut a circle in the mat and box to help the light shine through, plus it gives it the look of the moon behind the house. I used a LED tea light, DO NOT use a real flame candle!!

This card was made with CTMH's "Easter Blessings" stamps. I used Prisma colouring pencils and Mineral Oil aka Gamsol to blend the pencil colour. It works really good, I love the softness of the bunny.

Shaped Halloween Pumpkin card

I love Halloween and of course anything that I can make for halloween all the better! So here's a card in my favorite shape...a PUMPKIN!

Moonlit spider

I don't know about you but I am Brayer challenged!! I just can't seem to get the ink to blend without lines. So frusted as I was I decided to back to what I trust...my watercolour pencils. Here is how I created the background for this card.

1. Cut a small circle out of Post-It notes

2. Place Post-It where I want the "moon" to go

3. Starting with the lightest colour (yellow) first I started colouring the background. Then changing to light orange and then dark orange.

4. Take a baby wipe and wrap it around your finger and wipe it over the coloured area.

5. The wipe is wet enough to blend the colours, but not to wet that it wrinkles the paper.
