Hang in there

Do you like mushrooms?  My MIL loves them.  My yard grows them!  So before hubby mows them down she will come and pick them.  I think that's really neat, mind you I wouldn't eat them, it's just something about things growing on my lawn that doesn't appeal to me.  But hey that's me.  Anyway today I have a card I made that has mushrooms on it, I'm positive this is my first card using mushrooms.  But the little bear holding on for dear life is just to cute note to be made into a card.  So here's a little something for someone who needs a lift.

Fluer Colours FFF challenge

Today I've made a card for The Greeting Farms FFF colour challenge.  Colour challenges are such a different way to took at making a card.  My first instinct is to use all cardstock.  Just blocks of colours based on the challenge samples.  But I'm never happy with my cards that don't have pattern paper in them.  So I tried really hard to find scraps of DP with the right colours in them for the challenge.
This challenge is also a preview of the new CHIBI digi's. I love it when I can combine challenges!!
Here is Drummer Chibi.

And I used the new Fluer Anya on the card.  I loooove her dress and hair flowers!  She's just so adorable!  Definately perfect for some really girly girl cards don't cha think?

Every Other Day tags

Today's post is all about TAGS!!  All you need is 1 stamp set (Every Other Day), Spellbinders Labels 8 and a few scraps of paper.  I start by pre cutting all the cardstock and designer paper.  Cut the DP into sections and then just mix and match.  It's easy and fast to put a variety of tags together when  you do it this way!
The blue DP was cut in half for the top of one tag and the bottom of the other.
The red plaid was cut down the middle for the top of one tag and side of the other!

Eeeek! I'm sooooo excited I just have to tell you ....I've won Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge 137 using this set of stamps!!

It's a ROLL CALL hop!!

The Greeting Farm has put together a fabulous collection of Anya and Ian images.  Did I tell you it's a huge collection??  You can get your fix in one swoop!  The collection is called Roll Call and it's chalked full of the cutest images todate.  I say that because Marie is ALWAYS coming out with more adorable images.  She is so amazing and her talent is never ending.  Every month I think the new image can't get any cuter and every month I'm wrong.  So the whole team have put together some cards using the various Roll Call images.  So I you wanna see more hop on over to The Greeting Farm blog and start your journey.
I made two cards for today.  Maria and Dylan are making their debute today.
ROLL CALL will be sold for $48 and includes TEN sprouts plus sentiments. The normal cost of this would be over $90-it's a HUGE deal!

ROLL CALL is a large, limited edition set that comes on a 8 1/2 x11 sheet of untrimmed rubber, similar to your regular TGF stamp sets (I don't want people to get confused as our SB kits are diecut)
ROLL CALL will be available, along with NEW digis by artist Jessica Hymas and Marina Neira at the TGF Store on Sat. 5/15.

For today's preview, there is a BIG prize... since we're all posting, we just decided to turn this into a fun, happy lil' hop :)
ONE lucky winner will receive ROLL CALL just for hoppin' with our preview cards!
Leave a comment on the CA&F blog after you've completed the hop for a chance to win-ONE random winner will be VERY happy tomorrow!

Trees times 6

So I've been thinking about selling my cards at a craft fair this year.  And if I am doing this I probably should have mulitples of the same card.  Well I'm not so good at making the same card over and over again and end up making slight variations of the original.  It keeps things interesting!  Here's my attempt at (re) making the same card over and over again.
Here is what I started with.  I thought it was cute and versatile so maybe I should make more but with le 6ss hearts and maybe a border of some kind.
Ok so then I thought the hearts are cute so let's try the acorns.
Ok now let's try it with just leaves!
Hummm I think I should try an autumn sceen
Now what would it look like with two trees and an owl???
Last but not least, what would the sceen look like with the muffin hot air balloon?
Thanks for stopping, I hope you enjoyed the journey into my mind's eye.mind!

Apple-licous Additions

Today I'm focusing on apples!  I love all apples.  I even tired the Grapple.  It was weird to bite into an apple and instead of tasting an apple I tasted grapes but it was delicous!
Paper Makeup Stamps have a perfect apple stamp set called Apple Additions.  Here are some cards I made with this set.
Here's a paper pieced apple
Here's one with glitter. ( I wish I could take a better pic of the glitter)
And if you are wondering what comes in the Apple additions set well here's a card using everything!
3 apples tall isn't that the size of a smurf?

Stitch'ems!

Lately I've been trying to make multiple cards using either the same designer paper, stamps, or sketch. I like the challenge of making as many cards as I can with the same paper, or making the same but different card set. (if that makes sense). Anyway today's post uses all three. I used the new Stitch'ems from Whimsie Doodles to make these cards.

Breaking up is hard to do!

Well I've put it off as long as I can and now it's time to let you know that I am saying goodbye to my position on the Paper Makeup Design Team. It is a sad decision on my part.
It is hard to leave, especially a team that is so full of energy and support.  The ladies of this team always made me smile, I never knew what they'd come out with next.  That was the magic of this team, and the owner herself is just if not more wonderful.  I will miss Katie most.

Ok enough with the sad stuff, I have some Paper Makeup Cards to show you using the halloween set called Spooky Solids and Spooky Sentiments.  I know it's too early for Halloween but I just can't resist.

For this card I stamped the skull on Kraft cardstock and coloured it in with a white Prisma colouring pencil.  (they rock!!).  I didn't blend the pencil I just let it blend itself.  That's what is so great about Prisma pencils, with enough pressure they work themselves out.
-After I stamped the spiders I added a little grey shadow underneath with Copic Grey W1, just to give a little dimension.
-You can also just stamp a second spider slightly down from the original in grey ink if you don't like to freehand.
-With a pencil lightly draw lines down to the center of each spider, punch holes along the pencil line and tread through the holes.
-or use a sewing machine to stitch the lines.
**Start at the spiders head and work your way up.  That way you won't end up with the stiticing inside the spiders head.
