ShortCuts Holiday in the Forest card

Let's face it. We really don't NEED an excuse to buy more scrapbook supplies but it helps!!
I hope today's card inspires you to try ShortCuts clear cards. The possibilities are endless and the end result just might surprise you. Atleast that's what always happens to me!! I saw a documentary on how Disney made the movie SnowWhite (the part where she runs through the forest) and that is what inspired me to make this card. I have trees infront and behind with a snowlandscape and a little deer looking up into the moonlit sky at a single snowflake. The clear card base just gives this card the dimension I was hoping for. I'm so glad I had a ShortCuts clear card to make this card happen.

Papercrafts for a baby boy

I joined a secret sister swap at Splitcoast Stampers. My sister is due to have a baby boy in May so I thought she might like some homemade baby stuff. Here as the things I made for her.
First I thought she might like a tear bear. The hardest part of making this was the eyes!
I used off white mulberry paper, chalk and cardstock to make him.
I made the whole thing up! But forgot to make a pattern. LOL
Next I made a small album that fits in a CD tin and decorated the outside of the tin. I made the little undershirt and again forgot to make a pattern. Yep I was on a roll that night!!
Here's the 3 pages that are inside the tin. They fold together accordian style and fit perfectly inside the tin.
I hope she likes this!

ShortCuts and digi stamp

I haven't made a frosted card in a while so I thought it was time to do so! I even stitched around the outside edge to make a sort of frame around the rest of the card. I made this card for my Secret Sister. Shhhh she doesn't know who I am...well unless she visits my blog and I just let the cat out of the bag!! LOL.

Forest of cards

Well I got to play with my new stamps today. So this is my first "official" post as a DT member for The Greeting Farm. I'm starting with the stamp set "Forest Friends" and I think they are the cutest woodland creatures I ever saw!! I couldn't wait to get these stamps and make some cards.

I didn't have any background type stamps so I resorted to making one up! So I drew the trees coloured them with markers and chalked in a sky.

For the chipmucks I thought it would be funny to put a giant acorn behind them. So I got out my pencil and made myself an acorn big enough to fit a card!

Forest of cards part 2

The Forest Friends stamps from The Greeting Farm also come with an Owl. This is my first time making cards using an owl stamp and somehow I ended up with 3 cards! The sleepy owl card is my favorite, just looking at him makes me want to yawn!!

Here are two love birds....er I mean love Owls!

Since I don't have a tree stamp I made up my own! Lots of sticthing and distressing and my tree is fit for an owl!

Just a couple more fun paperpiecing cards. I hand drew the cherry and watermelon myself. I'm really loving making shapes out of pattern paper. The hard part is making the card to go with the shape I made! LOL.

Shabby baby

I really wanted to make some baby cards today but I just didn't have any baby stamps so I made some paperpiecings. Then I thougth I'd add lots of stitching and inking to make the cards kinda vintage shabby looking.

Club Anya blog hop

Welcome Blog hoppers! Are you having fun? I know I will be, stopping by everyone's blogs and seeing what they created. Speaking of creating here are some bookmarks I made using Miss Anya stamps. I wanted the bookmarks to be protected so I used clear sheets from ShortCuts and sandwiched the bookmarks between them. Then I stitched around the edge to keep them in place, plus I love stitching!!

And here's Digi Grad Anya.

Supplies:Miss Anya stamps-The Greeting Farm, Clear sheets-ShortCuts, pantone markers.

Interactive get well card

Have you ever visited someone's blog and saw something that made you say to yourself "now why didn't I think of that"? Well I visited Liegh O'Brien's blog and said just that. She altered a children's toy and put it on a card. So I just had to try one for myself. And just incase you want to make one I've included a tutorial on how I put one together.

In the Dog house

Good monday morning! I hope you like my little project this morning, I've challenged myself to use ShortCuts gift card holders in creative ways other than to hold a gift card. This gift card holder holds a coupon. I was thinking of my husband when I created it!! I took a gift card holder from ShortCuts and made it into a coupon holder. The coupon gives my husband a "free pass out of the dog house". I hope he uses it wisely..LOL.

My husband is getting this card for Father's Day. Do you think he'll like it? hehehehe

ShortCuts 3D Friday Tealight box

It's friday!!! All around I see some cute Ghirardelli boxes. Then I wondered what I could put in them instead of chocolate....Tealights! The box had to be adjusted to fit the tealights but it was worth it! ShortCuts full clear sheets are perfect for this project because they have a nice thickness that makes sturdy projects. No flimsy boxes! LOL
Supplies: Full clear sheet ShortCuts, Cup of Stuff stamps-The Greeting Farm, Pantone markers.

Sweet, simple birthday card

This is my attempt as making a card with "as little as possible" embellishements. So I used a ShortCuts clear card to help visually reduce the elements and keep it simple! The more I get to play with clear and frosted cards the more I love them!! You've got to give these cards a try.

Here's a coupon for 10% off if you want try an adventure in clear fun.

Day by day

I thought I would share this with you. It is this past month (March) in review. Weeds and Wildflowers are challenging their viewers to take a picture everyday and create a layout with those photos. I choose to do mine by the month. Here's my first one. Every picture was taken on the day it shows. Some have a little explanation about it.

Love hurts!

Isn't this little guy the cutest little nurse ever?? She's called Love Bear and she's from The Greeting Farm. They are also have a challege "Don't be Square". Which means they are looking for cards that are not square or rectangle in shape. This is what inspired me to make these cards.

I used an embossing folder (Cuttlebug) to make the dimples of the bandaid.

Supplies:Love Bear digi stamp-The Greeting Farm, embossing folder-Cuttlebug, Pantone Markers, Vintage Photo distress ink-Ranger, cardstock-CTMH, kraft cardstock-SU and silver foil-Spellbinders

You take the cake

Well it's the last day of the work week and the first week of April is almost over. Where is the time going?
April's theme for ShortCuts is summer time! That means fun sun sunny cards to brighten your day. I'm in love with this paper set. I can't believe aqua and orange look so good together. And isn't the clear card just perfect for keeping the card light and airy? Just like summer when less is best on those hot hot days!
